Our meet the team series gives us a chance to show the humans behind Rinew Legal. We stop, take a moment, and chat about life beyond law.
This week we sit down with Emily Brown to discuss guilty pleasures, winning the lottery and being stranded on a desert island!
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST EVER JOB?
I started working with my dad at Not Just Travel as a Travel Consultant. My favourite memory of that job was booking a Safari holiday in Africa for a lovely couple- it looked so interesting!
WHAT DID YOU WANT TO DO WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER?
Up until I was 11, I really wanted to be a doctor! However, I do feel like that’s every young girls dream job and once I realised it wasn’t as fabulous as it sounds, I decided that I really wanted to explore Law. I was actually really interested in Criminal Law at first but that was definitely just due to the amount of crime documentaries I had watched!
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR YOUNGER SELF?
Don’t compare yourself to others and just do your best.
WHAT WOULD BE THE FIRST THING YOU WOULD DO IF YOU WON THE LOTTERY?
I’d use the money to go on holiday, buy a house and maybe treat myself to a few new handbags whilst I’m at it!
WHAT SONGS ARE ON YOUR GO TO PLAYLIST?
Anything by Ed Sheeran!
IF YOU COULD HAVE ANY SUPERPOWER, WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND WHY?
I’d choose the ability to time-travel- I’d love to be able to go back in time and see what life was like for my ancestors, and maybe have a peak at what the future has in store for me!
IF YOU WERE STRANDED ON A DESERT ISLAND, WHAT 3 THINGS WOULD YOU TAKE?
I would have to bring some nail polish as I can’t bear not having my nails done! I’d also bring a book to read as I think it would be really peaceful and then the last thing I’d bring would be my dog because I’d miss him too much if I didn’t!
WHAT’S YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE?
If I find a new Netflix series, I will watch it all in 1 day!
WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST PET PEEVE?
A messy room.
WHAT’S YOUR WORST HABIT?
Buying things that I 100% do not need! I always find an excuse to buy something and I need to stop!
Next month we’ll be catching up with Millie Brown. In the meantime, if you have questions for any of the team please contact us at hello@rinewlegal.co.uk.
